A fun place to hold a team building exercise in San Francisco
Event Description: Once the epicenter for the Summer of Love, today’s Haight-Ashbury is an enormously lively neighborhood with funky shops, hip cafes and restaurants, and a NY East Village vibe that can’t be beat.
Location History: A collection of isolated farms and acres of sand dunes before 1883, the Haight-Ashbury became a popular entertainment area with the opening of the Haight cable car line. As the primary gateway to Golden Gate Park, the Haight boasted an amusement park and a baseball stadium. It was one of the few neighborhoods spared the devastating fires of the 1906 earthquake. The area’s claim to fame, of course, is its notoriety as the epicenter of the hippie movement. The Summer of Love (1967) transformed the neighborhood into a spot for hippies to create a social experiment that spread across the nation. The Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead, and Janis Joplin all lived a short distance from the intersection of Haight and Ashbury, providing a psychedelic background track that you can just hear today, if you listen closely. 🙂
During your teambuilding treasure hunt… expect to encounter a giant mural of aliens; classic Victorians; the memory of a bygone amusement park; a 10-foot tall painting of Janis Joplin; the Grateful Dead House and much, much more.
Not every corporate team building program is the same. Depending on your group, your focus may be integrating new people into the team and breaking down personal boundaries and divisions. Or you may have an existing department where teams could, with a little practice, cooperate and communicate more smoothly across teams and divisions. Or you might simply have a group that thrives on the use of technology. Let Dr. Clue customize your hunt program by selecting the content focus that best matches your group and your needs.
