Event Description: During this fun treasure hunt adventure, you’ll roam the streets of Downtown Santa Cruz, enjoying public art and historical signage around nearly every turn.

Location History:

Discovered in 1769 by the Spanish explorer Don Gaspar de Portola, Santa Cruz is Spanish for “Holy Cross”. A few years later, in 1791, the 12th California mission was established here. By 1900, logging, lime processing, agriculture, and commercial fishing industries prospered in the area. Due to its mild climate and scenic beauty, Santa Cruz also became a prominent resort community. Santa Cruz was hard hit by the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake that killed three people. It was also hit by ocean surges caused by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.

A progressive city, Santa Cruz became one of the first cities to approve marijuana for medicinal use, in 1992. In 1998, the Santa Cruz community declared itself a nuclear-free zone.

Today, downtown Santa Cruz is pleasant place for a stroll, with a strong California vibe and plentiful restaurant and shopping options.

During your hunt: Expect to encounter…a giant whale mural…a wall of hubcaps…the Monster of Monterey…A Starving Musician, and much, much more.

Event Description: The Ball Park area, including South Park and Bayside Village, is a fantastic place in the City to hold your corporate team-building event. Play Ball!

Location History: Established in the 1850s, and ravaged by the fire following the 1906 earthquake, this area was reborn during the tech boom of the late 1990s and is where Twitter was born. AT&T Park, formerly Pac Bell and later SBC Park, entered the scene in 2000, after the closing of Candlestick Park. It’s state-of-the art design and bayside location has earned AT&T the well-earned reputation as one of the nation’s most beautiful baseball stadiums.

Event Description: During this treasure hunt adventure, you’ll solve clues up and down the Calistoga downtown area.

Location History:

Once the home of the Wapoo tribe, Calistoga was settled in the 1840’s and led by Sam Brannan, publisher of San Francisco’s first English language newspaper. Brannan purchased 2000 acres of land in 1885 to develop a spa reminiscent of Saratoga, NY. The spa opened in 1862 and, with the completion of the railroad in 1868, became a destination hub for the upper Napa Valley. The name, Calistoga, came from Brannan’s famous malaprop that he would make this “the Saratoga of California”, which actually came out “the Calistoga of Sarafornia”.

During your hunt: Expect to encounter…a beautiful mural alley…old train cars…mud baths and geysers…a froggy fountain and much, much more.

Event Description: Just off the 101 in Rohnert Park, Sonoma State University has everything you could want in a college campus treasure hunt: trees, lawns, statues, plaques, murals, a state-of-the-art student union… It’s a great, safe location for team building, with few cars.

Not every corporate team building program is the same. Depending on your group, your focus may be integrating new people into the team and breaking down personal boundaries and divisions. Or you may have an existing department where teams could, with a little practice, cooperate and communicate more smoothly across teams and divisions. Or you might simply have a group that thrives on the use of technology. Let Dr. Clue customize your hunt program by selecting the content focus that best matches your group and your needs.

Event Description: A fun, safe and clean outdoor setting for a corporate team building, Downtown Pleasanton is one of the best kept secrets of the Bay Area.

History: Located in the East Bay about 25 miles east of Oakland, Pleasanton is a charming, upscale town of about 70,000 people. Once the home of Ohlone Indians, Pleasanton saw great changes upon arrival of the Spaniards, who introduced agriculture and vast herds of cattle. A farming region for the next 100 years, Pleasanton grew along with the Bay Area economy, eventually becoming the home to such corporate headquarters as Safeway Inc., Blackhawk Network, and Ross Stores. Today, Pleasanton is a bedroom community, recently ranked as the wealthiest middle-sized city in the United States by the Census Bureau and number 4 in USA Today’s list of “America’s 50 best cities to live in”.

During your corporate team building treasure hunt…expect to encounter a giant Rubik’s cube, a mural of cows, three columns of mosaics, and a photo of one of the great NFL coaches.
