A great place to hold a team building scavenger hunt in Minneapolis

Event Description: the largest mall in the United States and the twelfth largest in the world, the Mall of America (MOA) almost defies description. Nicknamed (at various times) “The Megamall”, “Sprawl of America”, or “Hugedale”, the Mall of America literally has it all: a theme park, a Crayola experience, an aquarium, a comedy club, and the Fly Over America ride. You can get seriously lost in this place! Perhaps best of all, it’s cool in the hot, muggy summers and warm in the cold, frigid Minnesota winters. This is a great place to learn about the world in all its diversity—without getting your hair mussed while you’re running around, solving clues!

During your corporate team building treasure hunt… expect to visit a stadium seat commemorating the longest home run at Metropolitan Stadium, a memorial to United Airlines Flight 93, a giant Lego Store, an Escape room, mini-golf center, and so much more.

Here’s Dr. Clue himself, Dave Blum, sharing his thoughts about this teambuilding scavenger hunt:

Not every corporate team building program is the same. Depending on your group, your focus may be integrating new people into the team and breaking down personal boundaries and divisions. Or you may have an existing department where teams could, with a little practice, cooperate and communicate more smoothly across teams and divisions. Or you might simply have a group that thrives on the use of technology. Let Dr. Clue customize your hunt program by selecting the content focus that best matches your group and your needs.

Museums are always a great place for a teambuilding scavenger hunt, but there’s something special about hands-on sciences museums — and the Exploratorium is one of the very best. You’ll see exhibits here that you won’t see anywhere else in the country, or even the world. It’s a fascinating place to explore during a day out in the City, but a Dr. Clue teambulding scavenger hunt takes it to the next level. Come do your hunt in the morning, then enjoy the Exploratorium for the rest of the day, with lunch at their elegant cafe. This is just a super place to explore, get lost and make amazing discoveries!

Venue Description: With a stated mission statement “to change the way the world learns,” the Exploratorium in San Francisco is a science museum like no other. While engaging in your corporate teambuilding exercise, you won’t want to miss the wonders of this 21st century geek’s wonderland.

History: Founded by physicist and educator Frank Oppenheimer (younger brother of J. Robert Oppenheimer) and opened in 1969 at the Palace of Fine Arts, the Exploratorium is perhaps the nation’s preeminent participatory center for informal learning, described by the New York Times as the most important science museum to have opened since the mid-20th century. In 2013, the entire shebang was renovated and moved to Pier 15, providing a glittering new home beside the bay for over 1,000 fascinating exhibits and interactive displays.

During your corporate team building treasure hunt… expect to enter the mysterious Shadow Box, discover ghosts within the machine, clamber around the funhouse of perspective, investigate a working camera obscura, and much, much more.

Not every corporate teambuilding program is the same.

Event Description: An appealing site for a corporate team building event, the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center –serving as the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (NASM)’s annex at Washington Dulles International Airport — is 760,000 square feet of aeronautic fun. The NASM has always had more artifacts than could be displayed at the main museum on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Well here they are in all their glory!

During your corporate team building treasure hunt…expect to encounter a “rocket dragon”…a Japanese balloon bomb…Amelia Earhart’s dinner(!)…the Discovery Space Shuttle, and much, much more. Your spirits will take off during your hunt at the Udvar-Hazy!

Event Description: An intriguing site for a corporate team building event, the Museum of Natural History (Naturhistorisches Museum) is one of Vienna’s grandest and most celebrated halls. Located just minutes from the Imperial Palace, the Naturhistorisches is where the Hapsburgs gave full expression to their enthusiasm for the natural sciences: from insects to gemstones and minerals to pterodactyls.

During your corporate team building treasure hunt…you’ll see fossils and dinosaurs, the 25,000-year-old figure of “Venus von Willendorf”, a giant topaz (117 kilograms) and the jewel bouquet of Maria Theresia…and that’s just for starters.

Event Description: An intriguing site for a corporate team building event, the Capitoline Hill — with its unbeatable views of the Forum and Colisseum — hosts the remarkable Capitoline Museum, one of the world’s premier museums for experiencing Roman artifacts.

Location History: Rome’s Capitoline Hill — once considered the heart of the city — is the site of Rome’s holiest ancient temples: the Temple to Jupiter and the Capitoline Triad (Jupiter, Juno, and their daughter Minerva). Here, too, Brutus and his fellow assassins locked themselves inside the Temple of Jupiter after murdering Julius Caesar. When the Celtic Gauls raided Rome in 390 BC, the Capitoline Hill (or Campidoglio) was the one section of the city to evade capture by the barbarians.

During your corporate team building treasure hunt… expect to encounter the only equestrian statue to survive from ancient Rome; an Etruscan she-wolf; the Dying Gaul; and much, much more.
