Event Description: Boasting five fascinating exhibition halls, a planetarium, an Imax Theater and even a submarine, Portland’s OMSI is a fantastic, safe place to be a kid, indoors and out of the clouds, enjoying a corporate teambuilding event.

Location History: From its humble beginnings as house on NE Hassalo Street in 1949, the OMSI has just grown and grown. By 1958, the museum had moved to Washington Park and in 1992 it moved again, to its current site on Water Street, integrating the old PGE turbine building.

Not every corporate team building program is the same. Depending on your group, your focus may be integrating new people into the team and breaking down personal boundaries and divisions. Or you may have an existing department where teams could, with a little practice, cooperate and communicate more smoothly across teams and divisions. Or you might simply have a group that thrives on the use of technology. Let Dr. Clue customize your hunt program by selecting the content focus that best matches your group and your needs.

Event Description: Boasting a thriving downtown area with fine shopping, great restaurants, famous chefs and one of the world’s great bookstores, Portland is a fantastic, safe place to do a corporate teambuilding event.

Location History: In 1843, Tennessee drifter William Overton and Massachusetts lawyer Asa Lovejoy beached their canoe on the banks of the Willamette River. Lacking the 25 cents needed to file a land claim, Overton struck a bargain with Lovejoy: In return for a quarter, Overton would share his claim to the 640-acre site known as “The Clearing.” Soon bored with clearing trees and building roads, Overton drifted on, selling his half of the claim to Francis W. Pettygrove. The new partners, Lovejoy and Pettygrove, however, couldn’t decide on a name for their budding township. Lovejoy was determined to name the site after his hometown of Boston, while Pettygrove was equally adamant about his native Portland, Maine. They decided to flip a coin, now known as the “Portland Penny,” to settle the argument. Pettygrove won on two tosses out of three.

During your corporate teambuilding treasure hunt… expect to encounter a giant eyeball; a smokestack; an antique metal safe; the Green Man of Portland, and much, much more.

Event Description: With its tremendous physical beauty, Banff is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Canada, with soaring mountain tops, well-maintained hiking trails, crystalline lakes, and an over-all, laid-back Canadian vibe. It’s a superb place for a corporate teambuilding event.

Location History: First settled in the 1880s after the transcontinental railway was built through the Bow Valley, Banff really made the map in 1883 when three Canadian Pacific Railway workers stumbled upon a series of natural hot springs on the side of Sulphur Mountain. The area received its name, Banff, in 1884 by George Stephen, president of the Canadian Pacific Railway, recalling his birthplace in Banffshire, Scotland.

During your corporate teambuilding treasure hunt… expect to encounter a giant bear heads on the back of a parking lot; a sculpture celebrating an 1880’s mountain camp; a ski museum; at least two totem poles, and much, much more. Treasure hunting and great mountain scenery – how can you beat that!

Its cool and spacious halls house one of the world’s finest displays of Northwest Coast First Nations art in a spectacular building overlooking mountains and sea. This is the place to learn about the Kwakwaka’wakw, Nisga’a, Gitksan, Haida, Coast Salish, and other Northwest Coast peoples.
We love this scavenger hunt location! Great views, fantastic people, little ferry boats plying the channel. We tend to meet out at the end of the island, at Ron Basford Park, where there is a kind of stadium seating overlooking the water. The hunt then explores the tiny shops and galleries of Granville Island, taking advantage of all the historical signage and public artwork. Stop for a bit at the Public Market and voila, it’s a perfect day.

Event Description: Artist’s workshops abound on Vancouver’s Granville Island; two breweries serve up cold drinks; and the views of downtown Vancouver are unsurpassed. What better place to hold a corporate teambuilding event?

Location History: Once a pair of lonely sandbars at the entrance of Vancouver’s False Creek, today’s Granville Island is often listed as the favorite place to visit in Vancouver: a sparkling, one-of-a-kind multi-use area that blends industry, shopping and entertainment. In the early 1900s it was home to such companies as Vulcan Ironworks, Wallace Shipyards, National Machinery, Diethers Coal and Shipping, and Wright’s Canadian Ropes. These days, the action revolves around the Public Market, with its fresh produce, flower shops, and restaurants.

During your corporate teambuilding treasure hunt… expect to explore the Netloft and the Kid’s Market; visit Mama’s bench; pay homage to a totem pole, and much more.

Not every corporate team building scavenger hunt is the same. Depending on your group, your focus may be integrating new people into the team and breaking down personal boundaries and divisions. Or you may have an existing department where teams could, with a little practice, cooperate and communicate more smoothly across teams and divisions. Or you might simply have a group that thrives on the use of technology. Let Dr. Clue customize your scavenger hunt program by selecting the content focus that best matches your group and your needs.

Event Description: Seattle’s oldest neighborhood, Pioneer Square is is a great place for a corporate teambuilding event — a spot where you can feel the whispers of the city’s rich, historic past. Turn-of-the-century street lamps line the square. Cobblestone streets abound. Stately red-brick Victorian Romanesque buildings lend warmth and a certain grandeur to the area. And underneath, the famed Underground Tour displays eerie sunken storefronts from the 1880s. Today, Pioneer Square is the home to art galleries, eateries, antique shops, cool restaurants and a buzzing nightlife, especially when the Seahawks are in town. But it’s the echoes of the past, seemingly at your fingertips, that really bring Pioneer Square alive.

During your corporate teambuilding treasure hunt… expect to encounter a classic train station; a towering totem pole; a monument to fire fighters; the home of Seattle’s first auction house, and a whole bunch more.
