A great San Francisco Teambuilding Scavenger Hunt Near AT&T Ball Park

The area encircling and including AT&T park is a San Francisco treat. The Bay Bridge is right there, of course, along with the Embarcadero and its stellar views of the Bay. And of course there’s the Ball Park itself, surrounded by statues, plaques, murals and baseball memorabilia — along with fantastic entertainment and dining venues.

Event Description: The Ball Park area, including South Park and Bayside Village, is a fantastic place in the City to hold your corporate team-building event. Play Ball!

Location History: Established in the 1850s, and ravaged by the fire following the 1906 earthquake, this area was reborn during the tech boom of the late 1990s and is where Twitter was born. AT&T Park, formerly Pac Bell and later SBC Park, entered the scene in 2000, after the closing of Candlestick Park. It’s state-of-the art design and bayside location has earned AT&T the well-earned reputation as one of the nation’s most beautiful baseball stadiums.

During your teambuilding treasure hunt… expect to encounter a statue of the great Willie Mays, a memorial to a famous author, mythological figures high on a wall, a wall of inspiration, and so much more.

Not every corporate team building program is the same. Depending on your group, your focus may be integrating new people into the team and breaking down personal boundaries and divisions. Or you may have an existing department where teams could, with a little practice, cooperate and communicate more smoothly across teams and divisions. Or you might simply have a group that thrives on the use of technology. Let Dr. Clue customize your hunt program by selecting the content focus that best matches your group and your needs.

This has to be one of the premier places in the WORLD for a teambuilding scavenger hunt. Let’s just start with the restaurants! Fantastic pasta…delectable Chinese food…and that’s just the beginning. You’ll also see ancient temples, historical plaques discussing the history of the City (Chinatown is where it all began…it’s where they announced the discovery of Gold in 1848!). Walking here is like taking a plane to Europe, making a stop over and then continuing on to Shanghai. It’s just the perfect place to explore with a teambuilding scavenger hunt.

Venue Description: Your Dr. Clue corporate teambuilding exercise in North Beach/Chinatown moves from the exotic streets of Hong Kong (or so it seems) to the boulevards of Rome or Florence. It’s like 2 countries in one!

Neighborhood History: First the Italians came. Then the Swiss, the Vietnamese, the Chinese. And all of this on the grounds of the old Spanish and Mexican town center. In later years, the Beatniks took over for awhile, with their wine bars and their poetry. No area of SF has more history and color than North Beach/Chinatown

During your corporate teambuilding treasure hunt… you may run into: a church where Marilyn Monroe got married; a fortune cookie festival; the most Beat Generation bookstore in the world; the best view in the city from atop a parking lot, and much, much more.

Just standing in the Presidio, looking out at the Bay, is a San Francisco treat. The Golden Gate Bridge is right there, in its red splendor. Crissy Field is down below, a marvelous expanse of landscaping right along the shore line. If you listen carefully, you can hear the fog horns blowing. Then you turn around, and here’s the Presidio itself, with its trees, its museums and its Civil War memorials. It’s a crazy good place for a teambuilding scavenger hunt that never feels over-crowded.

Event Description: Formerly a military base (with the best view in the world), the Presidio is a fantastic, safe place in the City to do a corporate team-building event.

Location History: The Presidio has a rich history spanning back to the time of the native Ohlone people. The Spanish arrived in 1776 to establish the northernmost outpost of their empire in western North America. The Presidio fell under Mexican rule for 24 years before the U.S. Army took control in 1846. Over 148 years, the U.S. Army transformed the Presidio grounds from mostly windswept dunes and scrub to a verdant, preeminent military post. Since 1994, the Presidio has been a part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

During your teambuilding treasure hunt… expect to encounter a legendary cannon; a row of buildings from the Civil War era; the glittering, new Walt Disney museum; a monument to Korean veterans; a giant bell and so much more.

Museums are always a great place for a teambuilding scavenger hunt, but there’s something special about hands-on sciences museums — and the Exploratorium is one of the very best. You’ll see exhibits here that you won’t see anywhere else in the country, or even the world. It’s a fascinating place to explore during a day out in the City, but a Dr. Clue teambulding scavenger hunt takes it to the next level. Come do your hunt in the morning, then enjoy the Exploratorium for the rest of the day, with lunch at their elegant cafe. This is just a super place to explore, get lost and make amazing discoveries!

Venue Description: With a stated mission statement “to change the way the world learns,” the Exploratorium in San Francisco is a science museum like no other. While engaging in your corporate teambuilding exercise, you won’t want to miss the wonders of this 21st century geek’s wonderland.

History: Founded by physicist and educator Frank Oppenheimer (younger brother of J. Robert Oppenheimer) and opened in 1969 at the Palace of Fine Arts, the Exploratorium is perhaps the nation’s preeminent participatory center for informal learning, described by the New York Times as the most important science museum to have opened since the mid-20th century. In 2013, the entire shebang was renovated and moved to Pier 15, providing a glittering new home beside the bay for over 1,000 fascinating exhibits and interactive displays.

During your corporate team building treasure hunt… expect to enter the mysterious Shadow Box, discover ghosts within the machine, clamber around the funhouse of perspective, investigate a working camera obscura, and much, much more.

A Great San Francisco Teambuilding Scavenger Hunt in Union Square

Most people come to Union Square for the shopping, especially around the holidays. They light a big tree in the square. The windows of the department stores are decorated with beautiful diaramas–often with puppies and kitties from the humane socieity! But the area has so much more to it, including statues, plaques, murals, monuments, mosaics and historical signs. It has a theater district. You’ll even get a whiff of Dashiell Hammett and his hard-boiled detective novels. This is a fun, compact place for a teambuilding scavenger hunt.

Location Description: Come join us for exploration, adventure and teambuilding in the “heart” of the City.

History: Originally a rallying point for the Union Army during the Civil War, San Francisco’s Union Square today is a major tourist draw and one of the world’s premier shopping districts. Grand hotels, small inns, and off-Broadway theaters also contribute to the area’s dynamic, 24-hour character.

During your corporate teambuilding treasure hunt… you may encounter:a tavern dedicated to one of the City’s best baseball players; a historic building commemorating great US presidents; a copy of the original Maltese Falcon; historic photos of San Francisco’s first cable cars, and many other treasures.

Not every corporate teambuilding program is the same.

Venue Description: A fantastic area for a corporate teambuilding event, the sunny, quirky Mission District is the cultural heart of San Francisco, largely unknown to the tourist crowd and the launching pad for all things new and alternative.

Neighborhood: Dating back to 1776 and the building of Mission Dolores (featured in the Hitchcock film, “Vertigo”), the Mission District is San Francisco’s oldest and most culturally diverse neighborhood. Home to the City’s largest Latin American population, the Mission is a flamboyant and extroverted place, magnet for young people, actors, poets, musicians and families alike. Chic boutiques, ethnic restaurants, sizzling night spots and political bookshops abound in the Mission, along with cutting-edge theaters and literally dozens of vibrant murals embracing Hispanic heritage and civil rights.

Golden Gate Park is kind of amazing. It stretches on for miles, from the Haight Ashbury all the way to the ocean. You can play sports here, have a picnic, do some archery, play chess, roller skate, bicycle, visit a world-class arboretum, visit museums…and do a scavenger hunt! We love the fact that the GGP gives you a place to unplug in the middle of the big city, breathing in some fresh air and getting away from it all. As a former site of a big fair, there are TONS of historical plaques, statues and sculptures: prime scavenger hunt material. We think you’ll love this hunt, then pop into the Inner Sunset for a post-hunt celebration.

Location Description

Come enjoy a healthy, vibrant and mysterious day in nature, best enjoyed with a picnic lunch under the trees.

History:

In 1860, it was a place so desolate it was once described as “A mass of white, trackless moving sands, without vegetation, and not pleasing to the senses.” Today, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park is perhaps the preeminent urban park in the country, home to redwood groves and vast grassy pastures, playing fields and world-class museums. Amidst statues and plaques of a long forgotten exposition, participants of this Dr. Clue’s Golden Gate Park Corporate Team Building exercise experience the nooks and crannies most park visitors tend to miss.

During your hunt… you may discover a hidden horseshoe pitching range; the Shakespeare Garden; the center for lawn bowling; a musical tunnel.
