Total Hunt Time
About 3 to 4 hours, depending on options selected
Once called Terminus and later Marthasville, Atlanta took its current appellation in 1847, named perhaps by an engineer with the Western & Atlantic railroad. By the time the Civil War rolled around in 1861, Atlanta was a major manufacturing and railroad hub, hence its targeting and eventual burning by Union General William T. Sherman’s army. Atlanta’s resurgence began soon after and has continued ever since, from a city once in ruins today’s modern, cosmopolitan city, host of the 1996 Olympics and one of the world’s most popular convention locations. Your hunt in sparkling downtown Atlanta might include a neo-classic structure dedicated to learning; a celebration of the Olympics; a Vietnam memorial; a forlorn Chinese rickshaw, and much more.
