Here’s your change to live out the movie “National Treasure”! From Faneuil Hall to Boston Commons, this one-mile section of the “Freedom Trail” in many ways embodies the American Revolution. Here you’ll find the cemetery where Paul Revere, John Hancock and Samuel Adams were buried; the Old North Church, where Revere hung his famous warning lanterns; and the Old State House, site of the 1770 Boston Massacre. Walking through these 20-square blocks of Old Boston, one can almost hear Frederick Douglass speaking out for freedom or Samuel Adams planning the details of the Boston Tea Party. By following the Freedom Trail, you are truly walking on the shoulders of giants. Your treasure hunt in Old Boston includes animal statues to both democrats and republicans; a memorial to ancient dentistry; a giant teapot; and a statue of Mercury.
