Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover

I try to keep these blogs on topic (treasure hunt ideas, scavenger hunt lists, team building exercises, etc.), but ocassionally something different comes along that I just have to share.

That being said, you simply MUST check out this YouTube video.  It’s from an English TV show called “Britain’s Got Talent” and the star is a completely unknown Scottish woman named Susan Boyle.  Upon first sight of Susan, Simon Cowell and the other judges are ready to write her off.  Forty-seven years old…a little overweight…a bit of a yokel — Susan looks likes any one of a million of those over-confident crackpots who show up on talent shows like this and then proceeds to sings like a sick hyena.

Not this time.  Wow.

What a great example of the old adage: “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” I’ve said it before–people are like icebergs.  What they show you above the water level only hints at the hidden depths that might lie underneath.
