I received the following amusing email yesterday:

“My idiot brother-in-law ‘forgot’ to plan his brother’s bachelor party! We will shortly have 6 guys coming from around the country to Boston with no itinerary. We are looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon!   Catch: THIS SATURDAY, MAY 16″

I love the energy of this message!  The writer clearly wants the bachelor party to go well — you can feel her charge…even if it’s somewhat mis-directed at her “idiot” brother-in-law.  That’s the way it works sometimes; you only get angry about something when you care about its success.  (If you don’t care, why bother getting mad, right?)

My response was to contact the writer and offer her two options:

1) Our Puzzle-Based Scavenger Hunt box kit
2) Our Puzzle-Based Bar Crawl box kit

(You can read more about both options by clicking here.)

Both kits allow people to run their own “puzzling urban adventures”, at low cost, without a facilitator or emcee.

I hope she goes for it.  We’ve done a lot of work over the years when it comes to corporate team building Boston.  I really love all the team building ideas (and treasure hunt ideas) that went into our “Beantown” program Along the Freedom Trail.  One of my all-time favorites.  If the client had wanted one of our emceed scavenger hunts in Boston, that would have been possible as well.

I’ll let you know how it goes, and what her “idiot brother-in-law” thinks of the experience.
